Yolana Wassersug’s first experience seeing Shakespeare was in Point Pleasant Park when she was seven years old. She has been to many Shakespeare by the Sea productions since then. Yolana studied theatre and Early Modern Studies at the University of King’s College. From 2008-2014, she lived in Stratford-upon-Avon—Shakespeare’s birthplace—and worked on her Master’s and Doctoral degrees there. After completing her PhD in Renaissance drama, she moved back home to Halifax and launched a theatre history podcast (bardtimespodcast.com). She spends most of her time teaching, seeing plays, reading, and baking.
