Jesse Maclean

Jesse MacLean is a director and performer living in Halifax. This is his seventh season with Shakespeare by the Sea. He has directed and acted in numerous productions, including Richard III (2004), The Adventures of Robin Hood (2005), A Midsummer Night’s Dream (2008), Cinderelly (2008), and MacBeth (2009). This season he directs Treasure Island and Julius Caesar.

Jesse has also toured extensively with the internationally acclaimed Mermaid Theatre of Nova Scotia, performing puppetry across North America and Asia since 2006. He currently serves as the Director of Mermaid’s Institute of Puppetry Arts.
