In this intensive class, the next generation of classical actors will study Shakespeare technique, acting, voice, movement and learn the ins and outs of the theatre industry from Halifax’s theatre professionals. This pre-professional training program is perfect for students who are serious about theatre and are ready to take the next step. Directed by Shakespeare by the Sea’s Artistic Associate, Drew O’Hara, this three-hour, weekly class will culminate in a run of performances at the Park Place Theatre in the Spring of 2022.

The Shakespeare Company program is an intensive, performance-based program. It provides meaningful practise, and as such, there is less time devoted to learning the basics of working with classical text. It is recommended that students who are new to Shakespeare join our Shakespeare Study Class first. This will provide students with the tools they need in order to join the Company program successfully.

Students wishing to join the Shakespeare Company program without having attended any of our other Shakespeare programs beforehand will be required to attend the Company Training Camp from August 30th-September 3rd, 2021, from 10AM-1PM each day. The tuition for this training program is $100.00 + HST for the full week. This training camp ensures that all students are up-to-speed on the foundations of performing Shakespeare's text, and they are prepared for the first day of rehearsal.
