But the fun doesn't stop there! With outdoor activities in Point Pleasant Park, and even a special performance at the end of the camp, there's never a dull moment at Shakespeare by the Sea.

Calling all aspiring actors, wordsmiths, and lovers of the stage to join us for an unforgettable journey through the world of the Bard himself! Get ready to dive deep into the captivating world of Shakespearean drama with our dynamic and immersive camp experience. Led by our team of skilled instructors, campers will embark on a thrilling exploration of Shakespeare's most iconic works.
 

Through a series of engaging workshops, interactive rehearsals, and hands-on activities, campers will hone their acting skills, unlock their creativity, and discover the timeless relevance of Shakespeare's plays. From mastering the art of iambic pentameter to bringing iconic characters to life on stage, every day will be a new adventure in the world of theatre!

Shakespeare’s Swords: The Bard’s Fight Scenes

“Et tu, Brute?” The SBTS Young Company will spend this summer examining Shakespeare’s greatest fight scenes. From emotionally charged brawls to strategic fencing matches, Shakespeare’s plays are full of climatic moments of violence. This company program, led by SBTS Associate Artistic Director Drew Douris-O’Hara, is open to ages 14-20 and will culminate with a weekend of performances at the Halifax Central Library, The Halifax Waterfront and Point Pleasant Park. The Young Company will also have the opportunity to perform their scenes at select SBTS performances in the Cambridge Battery throughout the month of August.

REHEARSALS

Monday June 10th 6-9pm 

Monday June 17th 6-9pm

Monday June 24th 6-9pm

Monday July 1st 6-9pm

 

Wednesday July 24 11-5pm and then Full Company attends SBTS production of ALICE IN WONDERLAND 

Thursday July 25 11-5pm and then Full Company attends SBTS production of TWELFTH NIGHT 

Friday July 26 12-4pm (dress rehearsal) 

 

PERFORMANCES:

Saturday July 27th 11am and 2pm at Halifax Central Library

Sunday July 28th 11am and 2pm at Halifax Waterfront

Select SBTS performances throughout August, TBD by actors availability
